The city as an open world game

My AI project is NOT revolutionary.

It's not pushing any frontiers in AI interfaces or product design. But it is asking an important question: what does an AI product look like when it's designed for human flourishing, not optimisation?

On the surface, it sounds simple. An AI surfaces environmental data you would have otherwise missed, and sends you on a quest in your city.

"It's just an app that gives you quests," I sometimes catch myself saying. But it's more than that.

For the graduation showcase, I left little ducks around the school. And every couple of minutes, I hear someone exclaiming: "Ayyy! Patitos!"

No one can explain it, but everyone loves it. Why something that small can bring unexpected joy.

That's what (re)Route hopes to invoke. A tiny spark of life in your everyday. Not disruptive. Not grand. Something quiet and whimsical.

It may not be cutting-edge AI, but it is human-rooted design.
